Photovoltaics (PV) is the technology of direct conversion of sunlight to electricity. PV is proven, reliable, and does not produce any greenhouse gases. From a business standpoint, it can be an excellent investment with rapid payback and serve as a hedge against future energy cost increases. Through 2010, the Federal government will offer cash grants covering 30% of the PV system cost. In addition, the State government will grant a tax refund of 24.5% or a tax credit of 35%.
